My bird club was rather amusing tonight, like it usually is. The old dude who runs the raffle had a conniption fit over somebody touching his ticket box thingy and then he cussed out everybody for talking too much.  When they're not being disgusting or slow I find ornery old people amusing.  I wonder if I will become one ....

Holy crap! This one took me FOREVER to get done.  Partly because I had the whole thing recorded and then my cat jumped on my keyboard AND DELETED HALF OF IT.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  Anyhow, hope you enjoy even though this is a dark story.

Reccie rec time!  Here are some vids I really enjoyed.  I'm always looking for good recs, so if you have any to pass my way, I'd appreciate them.  I really love the happy vids - especially Supernatural/J2.  The show kills me with angst already, which is why I seek out the happy, lol.  You may want to give a peek at my delicious page here first though, to make sure I don't already have it bookmarked.

Everything Changes and Say All I Need by sanaazzy .  Two dark angsty Max/Alec vids.  What's not to love?

Raising Hell by dreamrequiem .  An overview/group character study of the X5 transgenics, Max, Brin, Tinga, Krit, Syl, Ben, Jace and "big brother" Zack.  Incredibly well done.  Max and Zack heavy.

Born Into Nightmares by dreamrequiem . Ben and Alec set to "Bad Company." Gorgeous storytelling.

Max & Alec (Planets) by faith.  Lovely story.

In the Shadows by kj_svala . Incredible vid - excellent clip choice and song and story. Definitely one to watch again and again. *Note: you'll have to friend the vidder to watch her vids.  Well worth the effort!

Everyday Superhero by kj_svala  My favorite of kj_svala's Dark Angel vids! It really made me smile. Awwww, Alec!

Dreaming by diarmi .  It's been a long time since I've watched Farscape, but this vid is not to be missed.  Utterly gorgeous.

Loosen Up My Buttons, Babe by proofpudding.  This one is just fun all around.  I love all the shots of Jensen smacking his lips and looking come hither.
 
Supernatural

Supernatural will make a man out of you by lebluu.  I have a weakness for vids set to Disney songs.  This one just makes me smile all around.  Does anyone know if the vidder has an LJ?  I'd love to download this to watch it at the gym. :-) juice817 is made of sparkles and puppies!  Thank you!

My happy for the day?  It's SPRING!!  The weather is gorgeous, birds are singing, and life is good. marys_angel has some gorgeous spring icons if you're in the mood.

I've been trolling adultfanfiction.net for good Dark Angel stories.  This is a scary, scary thing, my friends.  Exhibit A, the first paragraph of a story that for some reason I passed on reading:

The sky was a clouded dark angry grey overcastting the night sky, intervals of thunder could be heard rumbling shattering the silence with its quick booming and streaks of lightning momentarily shed some light to the lone lithe figure sitting alone atop the abandoned remains of the Space Needle.

Now that I'm done with Blind Spot, I thought I'd catch up on podficcing some of the stories I've written over the last few months.  Hurt!Alec is always fun, right?  Oh, and originally I labeled this gen, but it's really not.  It's mild Max/Alec with some angsting Logan.

Mistletoe Kiss by ladyyueh (Alec/Logan, PG-13) Prompt: #17: Logan kisses Alec under the mistletoe as a joke and find himself affected more deeply than he'd intended. Sweet kissing fic.

Incinerate by amory_vain  (Alec/Ames, unrated) Non-con, masturbation. Sort of a follow-up to Created in Image. Short, dark, delicious little bit of evil Ames and helplessly turned on Alec.

Work in Progress by moonshayde (Gen, PG) Summary: A life threatening incident allows Joshua to see Alec's true colors. Written to my prompt: "A little Hurt!Alec drabble that includes Joshua." This is obviously longer than a drabble… Sweet hurt/comfort fic.

Dirty Job by diurnal_lee  (Gen, Teen) Summary: Logan catches Alec doing something unexpected. Short, sweet, and clever. Awww, Alec!!

Rage Against the Dying of the Light bylyl_devil  (Alec/OC [implied], PG-15) Prompt: Dark Angel – Alec, heat . Summary: Alec’s having a really bad week, and he’s cursing Manticore‘s geneticists down to his very last base pair. Alec is molested and he doesn't like it. Interesting concept that's well-executed.

Reccers note: 
My reccing criteria is basically this: if I liked it, I rec it. I'm a bit more lenient with my Dark Angel recs than I am with my Supernatural ones, for the simple reason that Supernatural has such a glut of talented writers.  Dark Angel, unfortunately, seems to have the opposite problem!  That's why I'm making these reccing posts, to gather all my faves in one place and hopefully help others to enjoy them as well. 

If you see your favorite story/stories missing, it could be because it doesn't contain Alec (I'm very monogamous), I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, or I don't know about it.  So please feel free to rec them to me.  I'll give them a shot, although it may take me forever and a day.  I bookmark my TBR (to be read) fics for when I'm in the mood.  If your favorite fic never does appear it could mean that it just didn't strike my fancy (which is very subjective, I admit) or I didn't think it was well written (this, too, is subjective, I suppose). 

PS - please rec me Dark Angel vids and fanmixes, too!

I've been reduced to trolling the Pit (ff.net) for Dark Angel fics. 

It is a scary, scary place, my friends.  But I have girded my loins and waded into battle.

Who the hell ever thought up SONGFIC??? It's completely and utterly WRETCHED!!!  Also, my favorite of the many atrocities I have encountered at the Pit:

Dear 14 year old girl who has apparently just written your first fanfic ever:  There is no such term as atom's apple.  It's Adam's apple.  Please to be investing in a dictionary.  Then peruse it upon occasion.  K?

Also, I feel dirty because for some reason everyone over at spnstoryfinders was looking for Sam and angels ficcies tonight so of course I pimped the HELL out of my fics Day of the Dead and The Watchman, which were both written before Season 4.  I am, of course, hoping for some gushing reviews about how wonderful they are.  Because it's been the kind of day in which I just might have thrown myself in front of a mac truck, if for some reason one had been barreling down my quiet suburban street. 

I'm better now.  Really.  I only twitch and spontaneously scream out "atom's apple" every two hours or so instead of every fifteen minutes.
