I haven't been around on LJ as much the past couple of weeks. I'm working on writing more and screwing around less, which is quite the trauma, let me tell you! Let's see if I can recap a few things before I devolve into animal squee. I don't think this stuff is spoilery since it's so vague, but just in case beware if you haven't seen Watchmen or the latest Supernatural:
- Does anyone know why when I convert WAV vids to MP4 the sound quality sucks? Anyone have a quick fix for this?
- Saw Watchmen and was kinda blah about it. The message of the movie is so dark - and that's even though it was a lot lighter in tone than the graphic novel. Anyhow, I didn't really care for either although I loved the special effects and JDM and OMG that reminds me of this awesome vid I saw of him and his dog. I was never really in love with him before seeing it. Now I am smitten and want his babies.
- Supernatural - Sam you bastard you. Dean wah wah wah. Sam and Dean - I despair for you. Loved the ep but it increased my fear for what is to come.
- COMIC CON!!!! I'm going - got my tickets and will be getting my hotel room this week. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*wipes tear away* Yes, I suppose I am a sap. I've got issues with my mom, but this makes me want to call her. She's getting old, and I'm pretty lucky that she's still around.

Yesterday these things made me happy:
1. Going to church and thinking of/blessing all my LJ friends across the world during the meditation time.
2. Attending a Christmas tea party with my old professor, who entertained us with good conversation and live violin music.
3. Driving up the Pacific Coast Highway as the sun set over the ocean.
4. Seeing my dogs flopped out in the yard, enjoying the sun:( Dog pic )

The Circle of Life, or something like that
Jun. 4th, 2008 06:42 pmI witnessed a murder today. Horrible, senseless, brutal.
On a hike in the hills, my rottie mix (sweet and gentle with people but not with other critters) spied a defenseless little horny toad and snapped it up, killing it pretty much immediately. Then spitting it out because it apparently didn't taste so great. So far, Ubu has murdered:
Oh, and I stopped up the tub today, pissing hubby off. Hey, I didn't know I should put the carpet cleaner dirty water down the tub!!! I feel horribly guilty because it's his birthday. This made me feel better (cause, you know, it's all about ME):

- a possum
- innumerable squirrels (initially, I was perplexed by all the dead squirrels in my back yard. I figured they died in the trees and fell on the ground because hey, I don't know what happens to squirrels when they die naturally. Plus I was in denial. Then one day while I was looking out into the back yard I saw the crime take place. Poor little squirrely.)
