One of those days ...
Nov. 14th, 2009 07:39 pm... in which I feel like CRAP. Not just regular crap but mondo crap: anxious, depressed, and miserable. Sigh. Being unemployed is getting old, although I hopefully have at least some freelance work coming up soon. Also, you'd think this would be a good time to write, huh? The muse has been gone, my friends, just ... wallowing in the mud with the pigs or something. mini_nanowrimo commitment, so that's something.
Saw Boondock Saints II the other day. It was so so - pretty much the same as the first movie except with Julie Benz and not as good. Although it did feature the shots of not one but both brothers' naked tushies. I rather liked that part. Also last night we saw 2012, which I found quite forgettable. The special effects were not all that magnificent, which surprised me.
TV-wise, ( Supernatural 5x08 AND 5x09 talk ... )
I'm still watching Flash Forward just because the hubby likes it, and we're also still hanging in there with Stargate Universe. I am quite confused by the ending of the last episode, however. It appears to require much too much thought out of us or something because hubby and I just went: huh? Also I still think that Robert Carlyse looks like a meerkat.
Anyhow, on days such as today I find it necessary to go in search of crazy kitteh piccies. Hope someone else will crack a grin at these. In particular, I identify with the last pic, lol.

I figure I'll brainstorm during the mini_nanowrimo and see what comes up. *is skeered* I know I can do this but it's a bit of a stretch for me, both because I've never done apocafic and because it's been a while since I wrote 10k of one story.

Oct. 12th, 2009 04:25 pmJust committed myself for the mini_nanowrimo for the 3rd year in a row, and am contemplating writing an apocabigbang during November due to smilla02 's influence. It's only 10K rather than 20K, which I find vastly more do-able. I have no idea what shape my apocalypse might take and whether it would include Castiel in addition to the boys, or whether I would do a crossover with Dark Angel. My little brain is spinning and spinning thinking about it ...
I can tell that the weather is getting cooler because suddenly one of my kitties is MUCH more affectionate. She gets cold easily and is only really interested in affection when it comes with human warmth, lol.

Dec. 2nd, 2008 03:41 pmOkay, first the important news. My cockatiel mama now has THREE EGGS in her nest box!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aren't you hysterically excited just like me???? What? You're not?? LOL In other bird news, I'm now the proud owner of 4 more cockatiels and 2 canaries after attending the local bird show on Sunday. It's really hard to take pics of birds through their cage, which is why these suck, but here's a couple of piccies of the canaries:

Along these lines, I've decided to set up a writing community to debut January 1, 2009. The idea is to support myself and others to write EVERY SINGLE DAY, on any sort of project - fanfic, original fic, nonfic, school essays, whatever. I'm a writer, dammit. I have to stop letting myself procrastinate my life away. I've proved to myself that I can write every day despite the fact that I'm afraid it will be crap, blah blah blah. Anyhow, please consider joining.thedailywriter

Mini NaNoWriMo
Oct. 28th, 2008 08:27 amI did the mini_nanowrimo for the first time last year, mainly because I wanted to prove to myself that I could write on command without it being total and utter crap. I tend to wait for inspiration, but sometimes inspiration needs a kick in the pants. I want to write some more Dark Angel fics and this is a great way to make myself do that. 100 words a day is totally doable as long as I schedule time to actually remember to do it every day.
I really have to tip my hat to those who are tackling the full blown NaNoWriMo challenge - 50,000 words in November. Because I can't see myself EVER being able to handle that!! haha
Anyhow - I applied the Hurt!Alec icon because maybe I'll have to beat him up some during the challenge. lol
