Many moons ago my writing partner dysonrules and I tried to get jobs writing Supernatural TV scripts by submitted a spec script to various TV people. Did not work, unfortunately! We wrote this episode with a funny case fic and everything. It would be great for someone to read it after all this time.

It's in script format, which is weird at first but you'll get used to it, I promise.

Enjoy!

Livejournal's unannounced and unacknowledged outage has me a wee bit irritated, so I'm trying out this Dreamwidth crossposting thing. I'm not sure what to set regarding comments but hopefully I'll figure it out ...

Anyhow, the perfect ending to the Comic Con weekend was the Conversation with Jared Padalecki!!! What can I say about it? The whole thing is undoubtedly available online somewhere and it's definitely worth a watch if you're so inclined. I came away from the experience feeling like Jared is a very kind, considerate, somewhat goofy guy who cares deeply about the people in his life (including Jensen). He seems so genuine, and so grateful to fans and life in general. During the signing afterward I didn't say much because there were 200 people behind me, but I did notice that he made a point of looking every person in the eye. He even winked at me! Awwwww, so sweet.

He reiterated that he's a very loyal person and that he'll be with Supernatural as long as the show has him. Here are a few pics in a slideshow. They look a little odd because they were taken of the video screen.

 Vid

I'm partial to short, action-filled vids with catchy songs. This one meets all of those criteria in spades:

Ki-ki-kiss me! by ILoveThesePeople - (Dean/Castiel)

Art

4 Times Sam Walked in on Dean and Cas Having Sex and 1 Time He Didn't by [livejournal.com profile] daggomus_prime  - (Dean/Castiel) This is a short comic strip that is both brilliantly drawn and hilarious. It's also quite NSFW.

Worship by [livejournal.com profile] lolryne  - (Dean/Castiel) Just all-around gorgeous - and quite sweet.

Fic

Bone by [livejournal.com profile] apokteino  - (Dean/Castiel) Not for the squeamish or those wishing for a sweet, fluffy read, this is DARK stuff. Torture and psychological devastation. Such a skillfully written, incredibly powerful piece, though. Incisive and uncompromising - a definite must-read.

Summary: When Dean (raised from hell by some unknown force) and Sam stop the last seal from breaking, heaven decides to bring its own apocalypse. Late in the war, an angel with dark hair and striking blue eyes is captured, and Dean – Dean is his interrogator.

The Future as B-Movie / Bring Out Your Dead by [livejournal.com profile] twoskeletons  and [livejournal.com profile] unoshot  - (Gen) Another dark piece that is bold and bleak and possessed of a sort of frantic desperation that is incredibly compelling; another powerful read.

Summary: In the middle of the zombie apocalypse, the vampires multiply and zero in on Cas. / This future isn't much better than that other one. / Surviving the Monsterpocalypse 101 / Worst road trip ever.

Supernatural

Oh, the angst. The sweet, sweet angst. With bonus h/c and an epic post-apocalyptic storyline? What could be better? A PODFIC of such a story - that could be better! With great delight, I am pleased to rec ....

Thursday's Child by [livejournal.com profile] strangeandcharm , read by [livejournal.com profile] alchemynerd - 12+ hours of hurty goodness! Yes, you read that right - 12+ hours! The story is Dean/Castiel, an AU in which Dean managed to kill Lucifer when he was in Sam's body. I've actually read the story twice before - so enjoyable!  [livejournal.com profile] alchemynerd 's voice is very pleasant. The recording is clear, as is the reader's diction, and her pacing is careful without being plodding.

The Eagle

I actually hadn't heard of The Eagle before my dear [livejournal.com profile] ariadnes_string  posted a lovely little piece of slashy h/c - The Place You Are - some time ago (highly recommended!), but as soon as I saw that it was - 1. historical, 2. Roman, and 3. filled with fine looking men, I was ALL OVER IT. [livejournal.com profile] jaxie12  has done several excellent podfics in this fandom (here). And also, one of my favorite readers produced this enjoyable piece:

Suffer, Spasm, Strain by [livejournal.com profile] onelittlesleep , read by dodificus. dodificus has a lovely accent and unhurried pacing. She doesn't do near enough podfics, I'm afraid! This particular story is so compelling and unusual - and it clocks in at only around 15 minutes.

I think I might be a little in love with [personal profile] scaramouche. I just recc'd another of her stories the other day. This one is a close second. It's a Dean/Castiel AU that is unique and affecting, clever and hot. [livejournal.com profile] exmanhater has a sweet voice and perfect tempo in this flawless read. Give it a shot! I'm listening to it for the 2nd time in a row and I NEVER do that. Holding Hands with a God, by [personal profile] scaramouche, read by [livejournal.com profile] exmanhater

I just turned the first draft of my [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang fic in!!!!! Final word count - 34,500. I'm nervous about the title and the summary and, well, the entire thing (thank God for rewriting) but it is DONE.

Now I need to get started on my fic for the [livejournal.com profile] darkangel_bb . Aren't you glad you get to hear me whine about that now? LOL. The minimum word count for that one is only 10k, though, so it should be easier. Now I just need to figure out what to write about!

It's Always the End of the World Somewhere, written by scaramouche and read by [livejournal.com profile] painted_pain  is a completely enjoyable podfic. It's read with a sort of unhurried quietness that's simply brilliant. The story itself is just as brilliant - a high school AU, Dean/Castiel, that is written so well that it transfixed me into actually looking for things to clean around the house so that I could listen to more, something that is QUITE unlike me normally. Read or listen - you won't be disappointed!

Paley Vids

In an attempt to avoid the real life horrors going on in Japan (and because I am, yet again, procrastinating instead of writing), I bring you some vids from the Paley Fest - Eric Kripke and Misha Collins. Misha's is especially cute - love his awkward smile, and his WINK afterward!!

Vids of Ben Edlund and Jim Beaver are also up over thisaway: http://www.ktla.com/shows/cw/supernatural/

Just got back from the Paley Fest - had a wonderful, relaxed time hanging out with friends, seeing some gorgeous boys, and eating loads of garlicky goodness at The Stinking Rose (restaurant where they have garlic everything - including garlic ice cream).

Here, have some piccies (VERY image heavy)!Read more... )

Glory, Glory, Hallelujah but I just now made it this far on my Big Bang:

Writing this month has been grueling, but less so than previously, probably because I took lots of days off, lol. Anyhow, the [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang comm just posted a reminder that there's only 60 days left to go, which means that it's time to buckle down and get my shit together.

The plot is coming easier and I'm not absolutely loathing the story as much as I did at the beginning. Still, I'm hoping that it gets better because I'm not exactly in love with the whole thing. I figure I'm around a third to a half finished. Woo hoo!

Now I'm wondering if anyone will read the damn thing because it's a wildly AU RPF that will likely turn out to be GEN with a side of het. I think there are about two gen RPF pieces in all of fandom. Maybe three.

Oh, and a BIG FAT SORRY to you if I, in my dipshittedness, spoiled you for the SPN episode after failing to put a cut in my last post. It's in there now but I only remembered after a couple of you called me on it. DOH! My only excuse is that I wasn't thinking when I posted, a situation that unfortunately occurs quite often (the not thinking not the posting).
twasadark: (SPN - Happy Sam and Dean)
Wow, I've been posting a lot lately. Here's another one! My initial reaction to last night's Supernatural epi was a decided MEH, possibly because it had been so hyped and I had been spoiled for so much of it. But I just rewatched it and there was a LOT to like. What I liked - and my very favorite parts in red:Read more... )Now I need to find something to occupy myself with for the rest of the day. It's quite beautiful out and I've already taken the dogs for a 1.5 hour hike. Maybe some yoga.

Wee!

Friends really are the BEST. Look what a friend who works for Warner Bros. was able to get for me??

Do you see that there? Jared Padalecki is giving me MUCH LOVE. And Jensen wishes me ALL THE BEST. *swoons*

And tonight ... the boys are back!! Wooooo hoooooooooooooo  Spoilery articles point to this being an excellent episode. I sure hope they're right!

Next weekend I go to the Creation LA Con. Lots of fun to look forward to!

Okay, so I know that there are real things out there in the world to be outraged about like, say, genocide and child prostitution and poverty and shit, but damn it I was looking forward to a new Supernatural tomorrow night and it's been pre-empted!!

I've been working my ass off lately and what do I have to look forward to tomorrow night? Some more work.

Woe is me.

I'm not as love with Supernatural as I have been in previous seasons, but it's still far and away my FAVORITE show on TV. And, to be completely honest, practically my ONLY show, lol. For the most part, I'm always on the computer and my husband is watching old movies/war documentaries/science shows on the TV.

Anyhow, I just got tickets for the SPN Creation Con in Los Angeles (Feb 12 & 13). If you're going, let me know and we'll meet to squee!

Also, the friend I'm going to the LA con with is going to get tickets for us to see Supernatural at the Paley Fest as well. Yay!! Hopefully we'll see the boys and Misha there as well. And hopefully we'll be able to get the tickets that we want!  Anyone out there planning on doing the Paley Fest too?

I can't recall the last time I read such an absorbing, beautifully crafted, lovingly detailed story as Restraint (J2, historical) by Dark Emeralds. I rarely cry at fiction, but this had me a blubbering mess at the end. It's that good.

*wanders off to weep a bit more*
