May. 19th, 2009 05:34 pmOne canary baby and two cockatiel babies were born last night! Awwwwwww! Yes, I remember the debacle I just went through with my other bird babies. But birth always makes me smile.
Had a big scare today - my Zune froze. Yes, I nearly had a meltdown. Luckily I got online and found out how to reboot it fairly quickly. *wipes sweat away from brow*

I got a wild hair last night about a half an hour before I was leaving to meet some friends for dinner and a movie, and wrote this little comment fic for the

Because I'm so late in responding, it's buried somewhere in the middle of TWELVE PAGES of comments and prompts, so maybe y'all will give it a little read and lie about how great it is just so I feel better?? LOL. Prompt: Sam and Dean, gen. Set sometime in season four. Sam has a fever and Dean is taking care of him. Sam also tells his brother he thinks Dean doesn't love him anymore, and Dean convinces him otherwise.

This really bad picture shows protesters carrying on about paying taxes in my very conservative, nothing-ever-happens suburb. It made me feel good to see people taking to the streets not because of the increase in taxes (because really, I don't mind paying taxes if it means they will make life better) but because I feel really lucky to live in a society that allows free expression and varying viewpoints:( Read more... )

Apr. 13th, 2009 07:15 pmMy happy for today: my birdies!! They fill me with glee - especially the ones I'm handfeeding. There are three of them and they are running around in their cage beside my desk, chirping up a storm as I type this. I think it's because I'm weaning them off of birdie formula right now and they're hungry. I suppose it will take a while for it to occur to them that the seed in their cage is more than just a snack, it's their dinner.

Apr. 11th, 2009 04:27 pmMy happy for the day? It's SPRING!! The weather is gorgeous, birds are singing, and life is good. marys_angel has some gorgeous spring icons if you're in the mood.
I've been trolling adultfanfiction.net for good Dark Angel stories. This is a scary, scary thing, my friends. Exhibit A, the first paragraph of a story that for some reason I passed on reading:
The sky was a clouded dark angry grey overcastting the night sky, intervals of thunder could be heard rumbling shattering the silence with its quick booming and streaks of lightning momentarily shed some light to the lone lithe figure sitting alone atop the abandoned remains of the Space Needle.

Schmoopy Goodness

Dec. 19th, 2008 05:20 pmAwww, it's the last day of the happy meme. *pouts* This was fun.
My happy today was that I got a visit from my friend Robin. She's an amazing person who I met at work about 8 years ago. Since then she went to Mozambique to do 2 years in the Peace Corps. And now she's getting her master's in nursing at Johns Hopkins. Friends are awesome. :-)
In other news, it's frickin COLD here. I had to put blankets on my bird cages!!
Stay warm, everyone!

1.parisindy has taught me the art of gentle whinery persuasion when it comes to podfics, so I tried it upon chiak , who has committed to giving me 3 or 4 more chapters of One Father's Sons. !!! This makes me do a happy happy happy dance!!!!
2. I love my Joe. Love love love love love. Not only is she a neverending source of entertainment, but she enables my crazy business ideas and writes screenplays with me and is the all around BEST FRIEND EVAR!!!!
3. I climbed my ass all the way to the top of a very tall hill today, which made me feel really good.
4. Even though Hubby can't see what I like about my bajillion birds, he worries about them and helps me put up nest boxes and fix their cages and earthquake proof them and keep them from turning into birdsicles due to the cold spell we're having
5. Hubby came home an hour early.
6. Caffeine!!!!

Happy stuff today:
1. It has been TWO WHOLE DAYS since my best frienddysonrules and I IM'd. Today we chatted. We're a thousand miles apart physically, but I miss her like WHOA when we aren't in contact.
2. My daughter and I IM'd today, too. She's very busy with work and school, and we sometimes go days without contact. I'm looking forward to seeing her over Christmas.
3. I debated staying home instead of going to the OA meeting. I went, and shared my story. Several people commented that they valued what I had to say.
4. I went to the gym and sweated. I really like sweating. Either it gives me a feeling of accomplishment or I'm just a psycho like that.
5. Liz and Sara called to tell me THAT SARA ACTUALLY SAW JENSEN ACKLES IN PERSON at a screening of My Bloody Valentine in LA!!!!
