Mini NaNoWriMo

I did the mini_nanowrimo  for the first time last year, mainly because I wanted to prove to myself that I could write on command without it being total and utter crap. I tend to wait for inspiration, but sometimes inspiration needs a kick in the pants. I want to write some more Dark Angel fics and this is a great way to make myself do that. 100 words a day is totally doable as long as I schedule time to actually remember to do it every day.

I really have to tip my hat to those who are tackling the full blown NaNoWriMo challenge - 50,000 words in November. Because I can't see myself EVER being able to handle that!! haha

Anyhow - I applied the Hurt!Alec icon because maybe I'll have to beat him up some during the challenge.  lol

Oh nice. That's a neat idea. But I am being insane and trying the big one again LOL

BTW, I am running out of time to write my DA fic. I know I can do it, but maybe you can help. What would be some good eps for Alec voice and character? My fic is about Alec spending the night in a haunted house on a bet from Sketchy, so I need to know how they interact. In the house, Alec will be faced with his own personal demons. I think I am good with those, but I would like to start out with his humor and sarcasm and I am not too familiar with DA yet to know it off the top of my head. Any pointers would be awesome :)

I know what you mean! I've been having the same problem. I've downloaded the Season 2 transcripts here: http://www.twiztv.com/scripts/darkangel/ which is a lot faster than watching each ep over and over again because you can just search for the Alec dialogue. Perhaps the episode 2x6 "Two" would be the most helpful for your purposes. Alec is a substantial part of it, plus he interacts with Sketchy somewhat.

Oh thanks! That is helpful. See, I watched S2 of DA like all at once so the eps blur in my head. I have to go back and rewatch but I just haven't had the time.

No, I have only completed one drabble so far because of crazy RL. Once the DA fic is done and my lesson I have to present in school this week is completed, I'll be back to the drabbles. I want to get the drabbles done before NaNo anyway :)

I've been wanting to do something like that for some time now.
And a 100 words isn't really that much. I used to do 2000 words per week for almost 5 months....
Maybe I should give that a try...

WOW!! That's awesome! I'm sure you'd have no problem with this, then. :-)

I like that they tally your word counts for you so there's a real feeling of accomplishment. Last year I usually found myself writing much more than my daily word commitment. It was very motivating.
