Remember when we had our epic fanfic peeves thread?  Which was mostly about sex.  It's over here.  Anyhow, lookie loo at what came out of it!  bellatemple done porned!  And she porned in a truly wondrous way!!!   Ghost of Love (NC-17; Dean/OFCs) And she totally blamed--I mean, credited--moi!  Summary: It's about sex, yes, but it's also about ghosts and learning and deciding one's own fate. 'Cause I can never write something just about sex.  It's unique and funny and very Deanlike.

The Gay That It Is (Or: The Gayest Gen Story Ever) by eighth_horizon (PG-13 for boykissing; Sam/Dean) Prompt: Pretending to be gay turns out to be the best idea ever.  Haha!!! Loved this story! Cute and funny and just delightful. Summary: Dean gets another ‘idea’, and the cliches run rampant. Flamingly rampant.

Orphans (PG-13; Gen) Summary: “About damn time,” is the first thing she says. Short, sweet, and makes you go "awwwww!"

Down There I Make My Name by Phina_Tera (Gen, Mature) This is a darker version of Alec than we see on the show, in a short, but well-written piece.  Although the story was brutal and violent I love the strangely touching ending.

nickeldime_17  is one of the DA authors whose LJ I am currently stalking.  She's written an impressive amount of fics - in fact, she wrote a story for every letter of the alphabet.  I wrote a note at the bottom of one of the fics I printed out: "Cute, snarky, delicious, and delightful."  That pretty much describes all of her stuff.  Her work is my happy place lately.  I haven't finished reading all of her work yet, but these are my favorite so far, all from the alphabet series:

I know musesfool 's work from Supernatural, so I about squeed my pants when I saw she was writing for DA.  My favorite so far has been The Hubbert Peak, which issaro  is podficcing right now (weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!) but this one is great as well:
The Trick Is to Keep Breathing my musesfool  (Max/Alec; adult)  - Summary: "I come here to be alone." "So, no different from anywhere else then, huh?"  Beautifully written, intimate, and totally satisfying. YUM!

I have a thing for Dean/Ellen, which I indulged by asking for it in the spn_summerlove  challenge.  And I love what I got:  Found by author withheld until reveal (Dean/Ellen, PG-13) Summary: Summary: It’s not the Roadhouse, this isn’t her life, and maybe she’s a little bit thankful for that. Author's Notes: Very loosely, loosely based upon Homer’s Odyssey (like, this is to the Odyssey what Clueless is to Emma).

Woo hooo!!!! I was the winning bidder for seascribbler's fanfic services at the livelongnmarry auction (an auction that ended up raising more than $50 K!!) and she just posted it today!!!  Dean/Henricksen.  There can never been too much of this pairing, in my opinion.  The story, The Curious Incident of the Golem in the Night-time is wonderfully told - sort of a tongue-in-cheek case file with some sexxin' going on.  YUM!  Yay to seascribbler for taking on the challenge of this fic even though she had never written this pairing and was sorta terrified by it. 

Also, almostinstinct used my rather random, bizarre prompts to come up with a lovely little Supernatural/Dark Angel crossover with another yummy pairing - Alec/Sam.  Well, it's been ten years and maybe more.  I love the beautiful language and vivid details in this character study.

Bunny 'Verse by iamstealthyone - Gen; PG-13 - These are a series of nine (so far) 100 word drabbles in which Sam and Dean have been turned into bunnies.  Jo is caring for them.  These drabbles are so so cute and funny and clever!!!  And bellatemple did great illustrations for them here. 

That Thing We Never Talk About (And I Mean Ever) by kellifer_fic - Gen; PG - Short, cute and very funny tale about Sam and Dean losing their pants. Literally.

I Never Thought This Would Happen to Me by mrsevilpigeon - Het (Max/Normal); R - Written for the jam_pony_fic mini ficathon.  The prompt was Normal gets too close to Max in heat.  Short and funny! Love Normal!

2. Hurt/Comfort (because life sucks sometimes and I just want someone/something/some story to make it all better, or barring that, I want someone other than me to do the suffering.  Which probably makes me a bad person.  But whatever.)

We Say Grace, We Say Ma’am by kimonkey7 - Gen; PG-13 - Summary: It’s hard to be idealistic when you’re 19 years old. Even harder when you live in a trailer park. Almost impossible when your dad is John Winchester. Does kimonkey7 ever disappoint?  Not in my experience. Dean and whump go SO good together.

Consolation by ??? written for spn_summerlove challenge; author to be revealed soon  - Het (Sam/Jo/Dean); NC-17 - Summary: Jo lost everyone at the Roadhouse and learns to deal. So Jo is the one who is hurt and needs the comforting in this one.  A threesome with Dean and Sam is a mighty good way to get all better, in my pervy little mind.  Anyhow, this is painful, hot, and unexpectedly tender.

i'd drive all night by roque_clasique- Gen; unrated; WIP - Yeah, I know.  This is a work in progress.  But the story is that good!  Plus, 12 chapters are already posted and the author posts a new one ever few days.  Anyhow, this is an addictive story with amazing Dean characterization and some fairly devastating whumpage as well.  All hail roque_clasique! 

Open Your Eyes by dodger_winslow; read by issaro- Gen; PG-13 - Great story about poor whumped up Dean and John trying to deal.  Beautifully read by issaro.  I've listened to it twice. So far.

Sound is Deep In the Dark by bloodnfire - Gen; Mature - Written for the
jam_pony_fic mini ficathon for the prompt: A mission gone wrong leaves Alec wounded and Max has to face the possibility of losing him.  Wonderful piece - harsh and vivid. Characterizations of Max and Alec are spot on.

Having a little trouble getting the mojo on with your significant other?  Well, read these and your problem will be all fixed up!  Hot hot hot hot stories.  Did I mention the hotness factor of these stories???  Cause, GUH.  As you can tell, I've mainly been reading Dark Angel, but of course there's some Supernatural in here as well.  I'll also be doing some gen recs ... soon.  Most of the below fics are rather short, but they really pack a punch.  You'll notice a couple of authors featured more than once.  Deservedly, IMHO. 

Dark Angel (Slash, Het, Threesome)

Standing The Heat  by veronamay (NC-17; Alec/Logan).  Summary: He notices when Max disappears for a couple of days and comes back looking hollow-eyed and haunted, of course he does, but he never figured it'd happen to him. Incredibly hot and just beautifully, perfectly written. Alec is desperate and Logan can't resist.

Deleted Scene- Heat  by minkmix (deleted from Heat, Part 1; NC-17 ; Max/Alec)  Some porny goodness between Max and Alec.

Drive By by minkmix (NC-17 ; Max/Alec)  Summary: Max goes into heat and rides Alec like a Six Flags theme park.

Happy Hour by minkmix(NC-17 - Edge of Consent; OMC/Alec) Summary: Alec is overheated in an upscale bathroom with some guy down his pants. There's a new drug on the market that can put an X5 into heat... Hot and intense. Alec gets slipped a sex mickie.

And Then There Was One by mickeym (NC-17, Logan/Alec/Max) Short, hot, bittersweet. Threesome that's about more than just sex.  Although the sex is pretty damn impressive. :-)

Test of Wills by alethialia (NC-17; Max/Alec) Summary: "I've got doctors screaming at me to let them take you apart, see where this stubborn streak comes from, and I could do that. But I want you to do what I say. And remember it." AU of "Designate This." Hot and sexy, but about power struggles as well. Smart, well written. Totally enjoyable - I read it twice.

Supernatural (Het and Sam/Dean)

Dean's Top 7 Unexpected Sexual Encounters (1/7): The Toy by dryler (NC-17; Dean/OFC) Summary: Sometimes even Dean is surprised by sex. For this part take a look at the title and warning, I think you'll get the picture. HAWT het. I love it when Dean is caught off guard ... pleasantly. 

Where It All Begins by mickeym (NC-17, Sam/Dean) Warnings/Spoilers: Pre-series, underage. (Sam is 16) Short but intense. WAY hot. Masturbation.

So I'm bored here at work and thought I'd do something that is not only productive, but of potential benefit TO ALL MANKIND.  This sorta lands in that category, right?

Supernatural (Sam/Dean and gen)

Razor Sharp by rivers_bend (Sam/Dean UST; PG-13??) and its sequel First Cut (gen; PG-13). There’s a little of everything in this fic: hurt/comfort, drunkenness, humor. It’s really fun to read about how Dean is so amusing and annoying to poor Sam.  The wincest in this is pretty mild, making it easy to overlook if that bothers you.

Til I Feel All Your Pieces by technosage (Sam/Dean; NC-17). Summary: After solving a case over the Day of the Dead holiday, their host 'suggests' Sam and Dean ought to stay to deal with their own dead. Sam plans a celebration…of Dean. It's not quite the joyful reminiscence he had planned, but Dean is alive and Sam gets a little closure. Excellent descriptions and a skillful examination of the brothers’ relationship through the lens of lazy drunken sex. Includes a frank acknowledgement of the “I” word. Really well written and ultimately touching.

Anywhere Except the Mouth by sweetestdrain (Sam/Dean; Explicit) Things are hot, sweaty, dirty, then awkward and unspoken. Short and very well-done.

Speechless by philote_auctor. (gen; PG-13) Weechesters that isn't cutsy.  Dean is terrified and can't speak until John gives him some fatherly advice. Hurt!Dean. Summary: In the aftermath of a hunt gone wrong and a rescue, Dean deals with a unique problem and John worries about a lapse into a very old habit.

Shattered by philote_auctor (gen; PG-13) Summary: Sam had just wanted Dean to let himself feel. Tag for “Everybody Loves a Clown.” What can I say? I’m a sucker for hugging.  Short piece that includes just that.

Dark Angel (het, slash and gen)

Surrender by alethialia (Max/Alec; NC-17) Summary: She gave in to him once; she didn’t know how to do it again. Hot like burning and so satisfying. Max tries to resist snarky, determined, persistent, self-confident and gentle Alec. Wonderfully well written and porntacular.

Gettin’ Busy by valjean (unrated, but I’d say it’s probably no higher than PG-13) Max and Alec give Joshua the sex talk. Funny and snarky and a little sweet, too. Brims over with Max/Alec without there actually being any Max/Alec to speak of.

All the King’s Horses and All the King’s Men by alyse (Alec/Logan; R) Alec/Logan isn’t something that I thought I’d enjoy, but once again my prejudices have been overridden by excellent writing. alyse takes her time with description, detail and nuance, making the climax (pun intended) perfectly satisfying. The h/c is tender and touching without being overwrought. Hurt!Alec. Summary: Logan had grown used to the quiet in the evenings, but that was before he took a sharp left into Surrealsville, population two. Nice long read (17,000 words)

Symphony for the Devil by alyse. (Max/Alec; PG-13) Prompt used was Max/Alec. Max catches him playing piano and they talk, leading to kissing, leading to wherever you want to take it. Max and Alec dancing around each other - sniping and snarking and finally moving in harmony. Excellent writer.

And in the Winter’s Bitter Chill by alyse (mostly gen; PG-13) Summary: Winter's come early this year. Logan tries not to read too much into that. Sort of an Alec character study, including the piano, from Logan's surprisingly non-annoying/wimpy POV.

Now, here's a rec post I never thought I'd make.  MPREG recs.  Just the notion of mpreg kinda makes me nauseous.  I mean ... WTF???  Alas, there are some kick ass authors that actually make it plausible, touching, and enthralling.  Who knew?

Familial Relations by sardonicsmiley.  PG-13. Gen. Dean is messed up by a ghost. But not in the way you might think. Dark and painful, but full of love nonetheless.  Hurt!Dean, mentally and physically.

Seeds of Vengeance by isolde13. Hard R.  Includes non-con.  This story was pretty amazing. I love how sweet and gentle Sam was, how he and Dean struggled along, tripping and faltering, but always managing to trust one another and work through the pain.  8 parts long - the above link is for part 8, which contains links to the earlier parts.  The epilogue is here.

Chimera by jaguarcaine. Ames/Alec; (not rated, but definitely NC-17 material) The pairing totally threw me - I DESPISE Ames.  He's no boy scout in this story, but it works.  This piece is completely amazing--it's well-written, humorous, angsty, passionate, full of desperate sex, babies, and love. 16 parts.  Includes gratuitous Hurt!Alec. Bitchy!Max has a minor role.

I haven't been doing many recs posts since I went wild with the whole podficcing thing, but I've read/listened to some really good fics lately that I just HAD to share.

The Time Dean was Sam's Girlfriend and Jess Entered the Winchester Family Business by fleshflutter , read by sadcypress  (PG-13; Sam/Dean and Sam/Jess; 1 hr 8 mins) Summary: Bodyswapping and genderswitching plus crack. This is so so so dang FUNNY and sweet and just a riot. fleshflutter  is one of my favorite authors - she's just so clever, and this fic really demonstrates that in spades. Even though one of the pairings is Sam/Dean I wouldn't classify this as wincest, if that squicks you. sadcypress  is such a great reader, too. She has the tones and inflections down perfectly. Everything That Dies by imogenics (Sam/Dean, R). I saw this recc'd somewhere - spnstoryfinders ? as an overlooked essential fic. It's older, but so very well-written and hot - rife with things unspoken. Dreamy and full of great descriptions and longing.

So I've been making my way through S2 of Dark Angel lately, slobbering over Alec and I've been jonesing for some good Max/Alec. I've only read a few so fat - those that I could find recc'd, so if you have some good ones to rec me I'd be happy to check them out. Anyhow, I just loved this one:

The Hubbard Peak by musesfool . Max/Alec; adult; 3,470 words. Summary: He pretends it's not just biology fucking them both. This is yummy porn from Alec's pov, but it's not just porn - his hopes of something more with Max are touching, as is the sweet ending.

Shadows on the Wall by katriel1987. PG-13. Summary: Sam is off at college, John isn't answering his phone, and Dean's time is running out. Stanford-era AU. Great h/c with Concerned!Sam and Savior!Bobby.

How to Bury Dean Winchester by strangeandcharm. Gen, PG-13. Summary: It starts with Dean getting buried alive... and it doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon. Unique story that's part mystery, part adventure, part Dean whumping.
