... it looks like if things don't pick up for the CW next year they may not be around after that.

It is a little worrisome, huh? I could see another network picking up Supernatural, though. Like the SciFi channel.

yeah but i don't get the sci fi channel in Canada

and sci fi is really famous for picking up shows and canceling them, but i hope the show can live to full fill Kripke's five year plan

SciFi has done a remarkably nice job with SG-verse, considering the quality of most things make for the channel.

And SPN was just seeming to catch on. The CW has some advertising issues - I watch the commercials (both during and for the show), and realize that they have no idea who the hell is watching this show. They seem to think they are selling it to young men, "Buffy for Boys", but it seems to be mostly grabbing women 16-40 who like the gore and violence, but stay for the "family drama" without all the typical "family drama" trappings...

Sci Fi has also done an exceptional job with Battlestar Galactica, although you are SO right about the quality of most of their stuff. I mean, Aztec Rex???? Puhleeese!!

Perhaps for us 16-40 year old women family drama = gore.

LOL!!

True, but did you see what SciFi did to Sliders? Ugh. I'm not sure it'd do SN justice. Maybe if they do call it quits, they'll know in time to give Kripke and Co a heads up and they can fast forward?

Hey, CW? Maybe the men (and women!) are not watching your "aimed at men" programing because it sucks. Hardcore. I'm just sayin'. The only thing I watch on your network is Supernatural.

Speaking as one of those coveted 18-36 year old demographics, I think your programing sucks. I'm more likely to watch the wrestling than One Tree Hill, Smallville, Gossip Girls, Reaper, or... whatever the hell else you have one. I DON'T EVEN KNOW ANYMORE.

Everything but Supernatural makes me cringe and gigglesnort at the same time.

HI. I'm opinionated. *g*

LOL. I know what you mean! The only thing I watch on their network is Supernatural, too. Of course, that's practically the only thing I watch on any network, but still ...

hmmm I wondered when the networks would start to tumble in the new media economy. I don't know if this is it, though. Could just be poor programming, etc.

But the good news-- they are gonna work on their female audience! Maybe spn will chill with the misogyny, eh?

I hope they'll work on their female audience with stuff OTHER than One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl, lol.

Sing it, sister. :)

Although will it mean more crying on SPN? :D (I actually think there's enough already).

My opinions, let me give them to you

Hm, maybe if their "aimed at women" programming didn't assume women were all creatures escaped from the Hills or Sex and the city and didn't treat their younger viewers like morons who can't handle a main plot AND a subplot.

I dunno, the CW has very few things going for it and those very few thins do not include their attitude. Even SPN is a little off, with its terrible lack of subplots, terrible treatment of minorities and women and overall tonal weirdness (don't ger me wrong! I'm absolutely desperate for a new season, even if nothing at all changes, I still want it!) and it's their best show.

Reaper did them no favors. They need a new Smallville (ie a breakaway hit) and Reaper...wasn't it.

But mostly, overall, the network needs to sort its shit out. Hiring someone who knows what a subplot is would be a good start. Hiring someone who knows what this alien species we call women is would also be a bold move.

Not to rant or anything. :)

Rant away! I must confess, tho, I've heard a lot about how Supernatural is misogynistic and anti-minority, but I'm having trouble seeing it. I mean, women, minorities, and white men seem to have equal time on the gore-stage ...?

Anyhow, Smallville is simply hideous. Which is possibly why they are so confused about what viewers want, since I believe it's their highest rated scripted show.

And your icon is FTW!!

*&(&*@^*(^@&%!^& NO. I want my full 5 seasons of Supernatural. :(

I watch One Tree Hill on the network too (SPN & OTH are the only shows I watch on this channel), but that show is so passed it's expiration date that it's not even funny.

I must confess to having watched that show as well in the past. *hangs head in shame* It's sort of morbidly fascinating, like a car wreck ...
