Fanfic pet peeve

Okay, I'm reading yet ANOTHER fanfic where Sam and Dean are driving around in the Impala with no destination in mind.  They're just driving.  Um ... with gas at $3.50 a gallon and the frickin' Impala, (which probably gets 2 miles per gallon) I don't think it's realistic for them to just drive around aimlessly.

Cause, you know, I demand realism in my shows about demon-hunting hottie brothers. 

LOL.

With all the fanfic I read, I probably should have a whole list of pet peeves, but the only other one I can think of right now is anything that's poorly written.  Like on ff.net.  Which, to be fair, is really only about 95% of the fics.

So.  That's that.

I figure its stolen/fake credit cards they will never pay for, so the gas is basically free.

Which leaves a big ? about the cruddy motels. This I attempt to fanwank as credit card companies are a lot more critical about hotel charges than they are about gas stations.

But I still want the ep at the end of this season, where, before Dean's scheduled death, they go all out and end up in some insanely expensive luxury suite (which, of course, ends in porn, but doesn't everything?)

Oh! I like that ... especially the porn! Ah, the wonderful pictures that conjures in my depraved little mind...

I'm really dreading the season finale because I just KNOW that Kripke will be ending it with Dean being sucked into Hell, kicking and screaming, and we'll have to wait until S4 to find out what happens. But ... at least we HAVE a Season 4, so I should be grateful. :-)

I can totally see Dean wanting to spend his last night at the 4 Seasons or something. And running up some absurd room service bill.

I'm crossing my fingers that this is what happens at the end of the 2nd to last ep - like AHBL Part 1, where there's only one week to wait with the angst. And then Sammy follows down into Hell, and saves Dean (and porn ensues, of course), but there's some sort of complication for season 4 to start off on. Because I don't want to spend the entire break thinking of Dean in hell and Sammy all alone :(

Haha, I randomly came across your journal and WORD to your pet peeve. I was just talking about fic annoyances with a friend this evening in which I ranted at length about my own fic peeve: the ready abundance of cell phones in wee!chester flashbacks.

I was just wondering about that the other day! Trying to remember what was going on in the 90s or even last week is far too taxing on my poor little brain, so I had to give up figuring out when cell phones became popular - lol!

I'm a year older than Sam, so I remember the technology of my childhood pretty well. My mother was an early adopter of one of the old school, giant ass car phones and by the time I was in high school (96-00) both of my parents had cells (still giant and clunky). However, they were still a pretty rare thing, there weren't a whole lot of towers around, and you can bet no kids my age had their own phone.

I'm a year older than Sam, too. Well, make that LOTS of years - lol!! I was watching Lethal Weapon the other day and Mel Gibson was talking on a cell phone ... the thing looked about a foot long and like it weighed 20 pounds. It's funny how quickly things change!

You may have noticed I've been drooling over a few of your fics over the last half-hour or so... as regards ffnet: the good stuff is so much easier to find if you just search by category, because if you don't click on "Romance", that gets rid of all the Mary Sues ;)
