Now, normally I’m not really all that in to long fics.  I mean, hey, I’m a busy gal.  I’ve got things to do and places to see.  And fic to read!  But I’ve found the below fics to be a delight.  Each of them is well-written, which as a writer myself is an absolute necessity for me to be able to enjoy a story. ;-)  Please do leave the authors feedback if you read their work.

A Good Man is Hard to Find by kimonkey7.  Gen.  And, I would add:  A Hard Man is Good to Find.  Sorry – I couldn’t resist!  Anyhow, a long, angsty, riveting fic.  Some of the twists and turns Dean’s life takes seem a bit …. out of character, but overall this fic is well worth your time to read.  Gen - 21 chapters.
Summary:  Dean keeps his word, and ramifications scatter like salt shot. Secrets, liquor, and bad things. Whump, angst, and banter. language warning.

Of Bastard Saints by nilchance and beanside.  Gen.  Dean doesn’t know who he is, and sets off across the country kicking ass and taking names.  Sam and John are attempting (and failing, for the most part) to get along, and following him.  This is a slam-bang of an adventure that keeps you interested all the way through 36 chapters and an Epilogue.  And what an epilogue it is.  One of the best things about this fic is the fact that it has been recorded as audio files here.

One Father’s Sons - by stele3.  Gen.  A rip-roaring adventure that posits a different 2nd season than we have.  Summary: AU for season two. After the car crash, Sam and Dean struggle to deal with their father's death, and make a startling discovery: they have a younger brother, Reese, who's got his own demonic issues.  The first few chapters, in particular, are mind-blowingly excellent.

With Spit and a Prayer – by kroki_refur – Wincest.  Sorta.  20-something riveting chapters. The summary says it all: The real tragedy is not the act itself, but the mess it leaves behind. You must first read the excellent Passenger. This story will fulfill whatever angst craving you have.  And then some.

In case you're interested, I’ve listed my recs here in my memories because they are getting to be somewhat numerous.  But, hey, they make me feel like I’m accomplishing something! ;-)

Okay, folks.  I must admit to an embarrassingly HUGE addiction to podcasted Supernatural fanfic.  I squee for joy when I find some! Like, full on, squeeeeeeeeeeeing.  I would SO much rather be listening to some of the many awesome fanfics out there than the blathering of stupid radio hosts while I’m in the car, or the same blathering of radio/tv personalities while I’m sweating away on the elliptical machine at the gym.  Now I actually LOOK FORWARD to driving and going to the gym.  On the slim chance that there are other maniacs like me out there, I have compiled a list of links to those blessed souls who have recorded and offered fanfics for the enjoyment of all.

Fanfic As Read by a Fan – several fics posted, a couple of them quite long

Supernatural Audio Novels – set up to offer the mp3 records of the kick-ass fanfic novel OF BASTARD SAINTS (now complete), this site also has some other audio novels in progress

Electronic Voice Phenomena – this site offers the wonderful EVP gen and slash fic podcasts, now 13 strong.  Most of the pieces recorded here are relatively short – I think 15 minutes is the max.  Lots to choose from in these podcasts, though.

Supernatural Multimedia – although this site is for all kinds of multimedia – not just audio fic – the wonderful and talented chiak posts ongoing projects for several stories/audio novels here.

iSlash podcasting – most of the stuff posted here is SGA or Due South, but there are a few Supernatural fics here and there

If you have any to add to this list I would be thrilled to hear about them!
