Supernatural

I don't usually post my Supernatural episode reactions, because quite frankly, others are a lot more coherent and incisive than I am, but I'll make an exception for 4.03 squee.  Here are some random thoughts influenced by my venerable old age (I was a small child during the early 70's), and some other stuff, too, lol:

• Tab ad on the bus bench - Tab was the BARFIEST cola EVAR
• Dean got a new bracelet ... right? It has beads on it, it's not the leather one of seasons past ... did this just happen?  I am somewhat clueless so I could have missed it.
• Hubby says that the diner where Dean and John first meet looks the same as the one in Back to the Future
• Sonny & Cher ... good God but I REMEMBER watching their variety show as a kid.  When my parents weren't trying to get me to watch that truly horrid show, Hee Haw.
• Question - so Mary's whole family is hunters. Well, now I want to know HOW they got into hunting in the first place!!
• LOL - Dean's mom kicks his ass.
• I love Mary's shirt - the white Western shirt with red roses.  I would wear that.  Does that make me a bad person?
• LOL about that piece of shit old car Dean is driving around.  Hubby says it's not a Pacer but it sorta looks like one.
• "Chatty Cathy"!!! I HAD one of those dolls when I was itty bitty.  Jeremy Carver, you must be elderly, like myself!
• Favorite line in the whole ep.  Dean:  "I've got a chance to save my family's lives. My family." Oh, DEAN!!
• Dean's gramma is a babe for an old broad.
• Ovaltine!!  Oh, Ovaltine. Another memory from years gone by.
• John is sorta a panywaist. I can't really imagine this John turning into the bad ass John we all know and love so well.
• Mary's kiss with Gramps. ICK.
• Awww, the look on Dean's face when Castiel puts his hand on Dean's shoulder.  He's just so devastated.

The last bits of 4.03 convince me even more that Sam is the reason Dean was rescued from Hell.  The good guys are counting on Dean to keep Sam from turning darkside. 

Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles

Damn, I love this show! I love how well written, well directed and well acted it is. I love the pacing, the touch of religion, the teenage angst, the motherly love, the ass kicking, CAMERON (my one and only lesbian crush), and DEREK (slobber slobber nekkid in the shower with tattoos). Sarah's pretty cool, too.

I heard rumors that the show is close to being cancelled.  NO NO NO NO!!!  It doesn't seem to have a strong fan base, though.  At least, judging from SCC's presence at ComicCon and lack of comms on LJ.  There are a few, but nothing like SPN.

Sanctuary

I'm going to watch this tonight because I've heard good buzz about it and I like Amanda Tapping.  But am I the only one that thinks it looks like a rip off of Torchwood?

Breaking Bad

This is an original show in AMC about a high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with lung cancer.  In order to provide for his family, he hooks up with a drug dealing ex-student to use his chemical knowledge to cook up meth.  Hubby talked me into watching this, since he's a Chemical Engineer and the mere sight of periodic tables makes him froth at the mouth.  Anyhow, I've only seen 2 eps (of an 8 ep season, I think) and it's really good.  Kind of a dark comedy.  It's by Vince Gillian, of X-Files fame.

dude, I've only seen the first 2 eps of Breaking Bad as well...are more out yet or what? I was really diggin' it when I watched over the summer.

I'm gonna have to agree with your husband, it does look like the diner in Back to the Future (I've watched that movie religiously since I was born). The set up is quite similar with the door/front window/bar stool placement...and the young guy sweeping the floor. 'Course, I get the feeling it was supposed to be that way. lol

Yeah, I think 8 eps of Breaking Bad have already been shown. I read that it's been renewed for a 2nd season, which is cool. They JUST had a Breaking Bad marathon Wed night, I think. We DVR'd all the eps to watch later.

Hee Haw!!! Now *that's* a horror show, for sure! Haha

Oh, absolutely. This just validated what I've been thinking from the very first episode of this season. Though I do wonder if angels are so powerful, WHY they need Dean to do it.

Yeah, plus my mother exclaimed "WHY IS DEAN DRIVING A PINTO?!" last night when she saw it, so I'm pretty sure that's what it is. lol Her and her car obsessions... *sigh*

It's so weird to see people talking about sanctuary,it'll be interesting to see what the reaction is, Amanda does a good job as do the other actors, but unfortunately i don't think the writing stands up, But time will tell :)

I went to the Sanctuary panel at Comic Con. It definitely looks like it has potential and Amanda Tapping seems to be having a blast. I just hope they know what they're doing making it an all green-screen show.

I've got a chance to save my family's lives. My family. Beautiful, I mean Dean has a HEART!! I am really liking this season so far, it's great GRAND. Also, yesh, the kiss was SO CREEPY. I just get the shivers thinking of the creepy.
And you're so right about Dean's devastated look, especially after Castiel says "he's not looking for you." OHMYGOSH!!! HEARTBREAK!!!

I thought the first season of SCC was really awesome, but I'm not feeling it this season. I don't know. Between the lack of Derek kicking ass and the lack of Sarah kicking ass, I'm sort of bored. Cameron's origin episode was not as awesome as I'd hoped it would be either. *sighs*

I'm still watching, but I'm contemplating stopping. Honestly, it hasn't captivated me. I'm hoping next week will be awesome.

I could have sworn, though, that Fox said it'd be getting a full second season with 22 episodes. Could be wrong.

Yeah, you're right that Derek hasn't kicked ass. I've been missing him. BIG time! Sarah kicked Cameron's ass with the big truck in ep 1. :-)

Let me know if you find out anything about the season. I'm crossing my fingers because I so don't want it to be canceled!

I meant to say that I liked the first episode. It gave me such high hopes! And then the second one came around, which was sort of blah. And then the third one, which was also blah except that I thought it was awesome that John stayed and tried to comfort Charlie after the Wife died.

Latest one kind of left me scratching my head and going, "What? No, honestly, what? Is her chip that scrambled?" I dunno.

Also, only thing I can find about how the show is going is this from Leven asking people to watch the show. It might very well be on the chopping block. *blinks*

Ooooh! Your Terminator icon is YUMMY! Yeah, ep 2 was pretty dumb, I must admit. Charlie can do major surgery on Derek on the frickin kitchen table but he can't fix a little hole in his wife's back? I thought that was lame.

I loved ep 3 though - I had never considered that Cameron might be from a real girl. It didn't have much in the action department though, that's for sure.

Episode two was the reactor one, wasn't it? I thought that one was super boring, and slightly creepy, what with the "crapped up" and the scrubbing down of poor nekkid Sarah. *pets*

LAME. And I sort of liked the wife and how bitchy she was about keeping up.

I don't know! On the one hand, I'm glad we got some backstory on Cameron. On the other hand, I really want to know WHY she seemed to think she was a girl named Allison for a while there. Is her chip still really messed up from the explosion? Do all terminators go through a phase like that? What triggered it? *flails* I was confused and I hate being confused.
