Vid Recs: Supernatural, Supernatural Crossover, Dark Angel, Stargate:Atlantis

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a Vid 'tard.  As in, I really never watch them except on a lark or if they are recc'd to me or if I click on the wrong link or whatever. But despite my vidding-incompetence, I've come across some great ones that I watch over and over again!  I guess that these could all be considered gen.  I tend to go for zippy music, action, and lots of teh pretty, if you're curious about my tastes.  And feel free to rec me anything you think I'd dig.  I'm mainly only into the fandoms below, although I do dig Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles too.

Anyhow, here they be:

Supernatural

Okay, I have to admit that the main reason I don't watch a lot of Supernatural vids in particular is because I DON'T WANT TO CRY. So many of them are so heartbreaking that I just can't handle it.  Seeing Sammy croaking AGAIN and AGAIN makes me very emotional, dammit.  Well, this one is guaranteed to make you smile, instead.  It's just wonderful - really well made and funny and oh dear GAWD does it bring back memories of the 70's.  And yes, I am old enough to sorta kinda remember the 70's.  Channel Hopping by ash4897

Supernatural/Boondock Saints crossover

You get FOUR incredibly hot brothers in this vid, not just two!!  This vid made me want to watch Boondock Saints, which I very promptly did. Yum. And the song is amazing!  Bro-Yay! by hope

Dark Angel

Yay for counteragent's rec!!  This Alec vid inspired me to make up a new word.  Slobbericious.  I feel that this new word accurately describes Jensen's drool appeal, don't you?  I SO love things I can describe as kick ass, and this definitely is!  I Like the Way You Move (2nd one down on the page) by Thandie 

Stargate: Atlantis

sadiane TOTALLY encouraged my Ronon lust by reccing this to me.  I would give her my firstborn for that, except that, well, my firstborn is 19 years old already.  And how the hell did that happen?  Anyhow, this is John/Ronon and Ronon/John in a gen way.  Which probably doesn't make much sense, but suffice it to say that it can be viewed through slash-colored glasses or not.  Red Moon (1st vid on the page) by sol_se

I tend to view everything through slash goggles, but I do adore the friendship vibe of John/Ronon (and the vid, which is love). sol_se had a very long conversation when I started watching the show about John/Ronon and the lack of pairingy goodness. I was all "hot like burning!" and was "but they are buddies!" Me:"but look right there, with the hitting with sticks and the beer in bedrooms and the follow him anywhere, and the buddies can be hot like burning". Her:"okay, you might have a point". And then there was "Outcast" and "Midway" ...

I'm in the process of learning to vid right now - SG-1's Sam Carter first, but I have notes for a happy Dean character vid afterwards. Also, notes for a S. 3 Dean vid to a song I still can't breathe when I listen to, almost 4 years later (Elliot Smith's "King's Crossing" - the song he recorded the day before he died, lyrics ) so that one likely won't happen.

I find 19 year old children to be much more palatable when they live in another state and are not always flopping around my house yowling and complaining. LOL.

I have been a bad little SGA'r and I don't think I've seen Outcast or Midway yet ... S4, right?

Both are the last half of season 4. You'll love Outcast (that fic I wrote was an Outcast tag). Plus, Ronon in jeans! And Midway might be more fun after knowing SG-1 (it has Teal'c, who is also awesome)

counteragent has already kindly offered a beta , if I ever get anything worth looking at. She's all wonderful and encouraging.

Elliot Smith is sort of a Portland legend - went from recording in his basement, playing every insturment and mixing on a 4 track, to being nominated for an Oscar ("Miss Misery" from Good Will Hunting). It's all really depressing stuff- drug addiction, depression, suicide (though there are some who claim he was murdered), but sometimes it's really beautiful (though this is one of the darker ones)

The song, if you are interested here . The first few minutes only really make sense if you know the earlier songs that are being sampled - so anything would pick up about 1:45 in.

To cheer this up, I may be currently writing fic about This picture ? And it's not even slash.

And the pic???? I LOVE it!!! So so cute! My favorite is the kitty with his little mouth open!! OMG - I can't wait to read it! It totally COULD be slash since he's evidently sleeping in John's bed .... :-)
