Podfic Community Rec

general_jinjur, who runs the awesome Audiofic Archive for fandom is working on a challenge, to become a yearly event, to increase the fannish diversity of podfic along with anatsuno and raz0rgirl.

To this end, they've established a comm here on LJ, the amplificathon.

One of the comm's goals is to get more people involved in podficcing as readers, and another is to get more fandoms, including 6-degrees fandoms, RPF/RPS, and more gen and diverse pairings represented in the Archive.

This year's challenge will run April 7th through June 2nd. Check out the comm for details.

when you talk of the comm (community) do you mean the live journal group or something else

Sorry - I should have specified. Yes, it's the livejournal community.

*Definitely* give recording a shot! It is weird hearing your own voice, but you get used to it. :-)
I'll answer any questions you might have. podfic_tips has links to some great tutorials as well.

thanks alot ..seriously, i joined the challenge LJ community

i have some supernatural stories and some andromeda ones .. and maybe a stargate atlantis one.. i was just worried about doing the actual recording process... not sure i could get through reading it with out stumbling, and that my voice would sound funny..but i guess i should try and worry about that later

Yay! I find that I have to read a fic out loud once or even twice before I start recording, otherwise I stumble too much. And you can edit out mistakes in the recording software as well. Which is a good thing or I would have a lot more.
