So, finding really good DA fic is a bitch. But it's been my mission from God, or something. Anyhow, I'm a big time Max/Alec shipper and these are the ficcies that I really enjoyed, separated by level of explicitness, but otherwise in no particular order. Anyhow, I will update this list as I continue to make recs. Also, I have a Slash/Gen/Other recs post as well.

Stirred by musesfool (Max/Alec; adult) Summary: In which Alec puts his money where his mouth is. So to speak. Yum. Max and Alec get dirty and then they get clean while getting dirty again.

Untitled Comment Porn by monica_catch22  (Max/Alec, unrated) Prompt: DA: Max/Alec ~ bite

Cover by alethialia (Max/Alec, R) Summary: "Okay, locked room with cameras: only two options. Quick, hit me." Yummy little fic with banter and kissing and Alec being an irresistible pain in the ass.

Political Animal by sanyin  (Max/Alec, NC-17) - Summary: Max likes to be on top. Excellently written, multi-layered and VERY NC-17. Wow.

In the Present Tense by whereupon  (Max/Alec, NC-17) - Summary: "variations on your violence." Well written, dark and strangely compelling. This is not your happy skippy M/A. Painful stuff.

The Trick Is to Keep Breathing by musesfool  (Max/Alec; adult)  - Summary: "I come here to be alone." "So, no different from anywhere else then, huh?"  Beautifully written, intimate, and totally satisfying. YUM!

Despite Your Destination by CarrieICL (Max/Alec, adult) Passionate and painful. This story is short but it hit all my buttons. Yummy desperate sex, too!

From A to Z: Wall by nickeldime_17  (Max/Alec, rated M) - Sweet, sexy, and touchy.

The Hubbard Peak by musesfool . Max/Alec; adult; 3,470 words. Summary: He pretends it's not just biology fucking them both. This is yummy porn from Alec's pov, but it's not just porn - his hopes of something more with Max are touching, as is the sweet ending.

Hold Me Now (I Need To Feel Relief) by kinkynicky   NC-17; Max/Alec; 9,213 words) Summary: It's not surprising really, that they go into heat at the same time. They were paired by Manticore for reproduction, perfect for one another, at least in a physical capacity. This is a nice, long, incredibly HOT Max/Alec heatfic that's also about love and lust and yes, babies. Wonderfully well-written and completely satisfying. Oh, Alec, what I would give to be your love puppet ... sigh.

In the backseat of a black jeep on a back street by zarahemla  (R; Max/Alec). Summary: Don't make us go through this all again. I'm at a loss about why the author gave this an R rating, unless it's for the mentions of torture. Anyhow, this is a wonderful, well-written piece of Alec whump with a sweet ending. 

Probabilities in View by LC (unrated; Max/Alec/OC) A short little bit of pure porny goodness.

Surrender by alethialia (Max/Alec; NC-17) Summary: She gave in to him once; she didn't know how to do it again. Hot like burning and so satisfying. Max tries to resist snarky, determined, persistent, self-confident and gentle Alec. Wonderfully well written and porntacular.

Heart by claudia_writes  (Max/Alec; NC-17) Summary: Gratuitous heat fic. Max is stubborn, Alec helps. One word: yum.

Deleted Scene- Heat  by minkmix (deleted from Heat, Part 1; NC-17 ; Max/Alec)  Some porny goodness between Max and Alec.

Drive By by minkmix (NC-17 ; Max/Alec)  Summary: Max goes into heat and rides Alec like a Six Flags theme park.

Test of Wills by alethialia (NC-17; Max/Alec) Summary: "I've got doctors screaming at me to let them take you apart, see where this stubborn streak comes from, and I could do that. But I want you to do what I say. And remember it." AU of "Designate This." Hot and sexy, but about power struggles as well. Smart, well written. Totally enjoyable - I read it twice.

Untitled by mickeym   - kissing ficlet for my prompt Max/Alec, desperation, rated hard R. Wonderfully well written and just ... perfect.

lie down beneath this bowl of stars by musesfool (Max/Alec, PG) Summary: Alec's timing sucks. Sweet story of a beginning between Max and Alec.

Always Alright by hunters_retreat (Max/Alec, unrated) Summary: Alec thinks about his life because it's better than thinking about the position he's currently in. Although this fic could use some beta love, it's overall well-written, and a nice take on heat fic. 

Constellations, Confrontations, and a Confession and its sequel, Proven,  by Aranel du Lac (Max/Alec, Teen) Lovely interplay between Max and Alec.

Alive ‘till Tomorrow by circleofstars (Max/Alec, PG-13) A nicely written, interesting, ten chapter story featuring much Alec whump. Logan is out of character, but overall this is a satisfying read.

KIA by Ani-maniac494  (Max/Alec, G) Very short, but poignant and sweet.

Would You Rather? by angelofdarkness78 (Max/Alec, PG) Way cute and lighthearted.

Wing Man by Lisa0316 (Max/Alec, PG-13) Starts out as well written, but seemingly predictable and then veers off into a different, delightful place.

Not Your Hero by Stand In Girl (Max/Alec, PG-13) Summary: Alec has a talk with Asha, and they both realize some things. We all saw the tiny beginnings of a relationship between Alec and Asha towards the end of Season Two. This is me stamping that out. An interesting look at Alec's motivations.

Metamorphosis Interlude or The Dock of the Bay by Flidais (Max/Alec, PG) Love the banter and ease between Max and Alec in this story. Short.

A Transgenic Carol by Ani-maniac494 (Max/Alec, PG) Summary: Everything changes when Alec is visited by three…unusual spirits on Christmas Eve. Fluffy Christmas Max/Alec wherein the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future visit Alec. Very enjoyable.

Encounters by Rhasa_aka_Sarah (Max/Alec, R) Clever little Max/Alec fic.
A Damned Good Reason by shopfront  (Max/Alec, PG) - Summary: People keep reading things into Max taking regular coffee breaks with Alec.

Symphony for the Devil by alyse . (Max/Alec; PG-13) Prompt used was Max/Alec. Max catches him playing piano and they talk, leading to kissing, leading to wherever you want to take it. Max and Alec dancing around each other - sniping and snarking and finally moving in harmony. Excellent writer.

Moving Right Along by Minim Calibre (unrated; Max/Alec) Although this piece is unrated, I would say it's probably PG. A sweet bit of snark and surrender.

Gettin' Busy by valjean (unrated, but I'd say it's probably no higher than PG-13) Max and Alec give Joshua the sex talk. Funny and snarky and a little sweet, too. Brims over with Max/Alec without there actually being any Max/Alec to speak of.

A Mind that Knows Itself by impertinence   (Max/Alec, unrated) -Summary: Post-"Berrisford Agenda". Alec's not alright, duh.

Whipping Boy by baloo. Short, but really well done look at the dynamics of the relationships between Max and Alec. PG-ish. Interesting conclusion about Alec.

The Cure by lusmeitli (Max/Alec, PG-13) Summary: This is another take on 'the cure' situation, but with an additional twist. Funny and sweet - drunk!Alec FTW!

Nightly by  lusmeitli (Max/Alec, PG-13) Summary: We learn a little about what Max is doing (and thinking whilst doing it) when she thinks no one's looking. Sweet, loving, and tender.

Untitled by _plastiqueink  (Max/Alec, unrated) Very short, very good. So bittersweet.

Mixed Signals by  dazedizzy (Max/Alec, PG-13) Summary: Alec finds out some very interesting things from Logan about Max. Yum!

I have to agree with these recs, in fact I really love these stories! I can't help but notice though, that a few of my top favorites are missing. I hope this is just because you haven't come across them. Not because you think they're bad, or something!
