We had a lovely time in Florida and I'm still trying to adjust to post-vacation times. We even met a fellow fangirl! Yay for
voicegrl who is made of 50 kinds of win!
I had to practically drag the hubster away for vacation because he's like a pony at a grist mill, trudging around in an endless circle. Work, work, work, work. And I'm always: VACATION, VACATION, VACATION! If I had more money I'd always been somewhere new, but alas, I'm relegated to traveling every now and again. I've wanted to see Florida for a while now since I've never been and when the hubster mentioned that he wanted to see a space shuttle launch before the program ended for good I jumped on the opportunity. Here's pretty much what we saw of the Space Shuttle Atlantis launch:

This was preceded by lots of rumbling and crackling and jets of flames and people cheering. It was pretty cool, although the video I took of it didn't come out. *pouts* After the thing got in the air I couldn't see it through the digital display anymore so I don't even know if I was taking a picture of it, lol.
It was a pretty picture perfect day for the launch - which went off without a hitch. Yay!!! We spent the next two days at Kennedy Space Center looking at gigantic hunks of spacecraft like this:

This is a Saturn V rocket housed inside a GIGUNDO building. And here's me and the hubster on the moon rover:

What? It was bright up there! The rest of the trip was mine, so we went to St. Augustine and the Everglades and even made it down to Key Largo.
We saw picturesque old hotels in St. Augustine ....

Saw pretty trees (on Key Largo) ....

Ran afoul of alligators (not really) ...

Apparently there are 2 MILLION alligators in Florida. WOW!! Also there are lots and lots of birds like this anhinga in the Everglades:

Everglades which pretty much look like this ...

This (air plants) ...

And this (the hubby) ...

We ate so freaking much! Italian, Cuban, Seafood, bar food, fast food, food food food. We ate so much that it was the last straw for me. I've been wanting to lose weight for YEARS now and I'm finally going to do something about it - so tomorrow I'm signing up for Weight Watchers and hopefully soon you'll all be seeing less of me. Bwah ha.
