Dark Angel Recs!

Alec lives on! Here are a couple of Dark Angel recs that I read/listened to lately:

(Fic) Change More Fierce by [profile] corbyinoz; Gen, Rated: M

Remember the police captain from the final two episodes of Dark Angel? [profile] corbyinoz has written a wonderful story about Alec's interaction with him here. Based on [profile] kjsvala's excellent art over here.

Summary: Ramon Clemente receives an unexpected visitor days after the events of 'Freak Nation'. His encounter with Alec will change everything he knew about his family life, his security and the nature of the 'reaks' he chased into Terminal City; but can he save Alec, as Alec saved him?

(Podfic) A Mind That Knows Itself by [personal profile] impertinence; read by [personal profile] exmanhater; Max/Alec, PG-13; Length: 17:17

[personal profile] exmanhater gives her typical sweet, smooth read of this lovely story. Delightful!

Summary: Post-"Berrisford Agenda". Alec's not alright, duh.

Podfic Rec - J2

One of my favorite things about podfic is the company I get doing boring, mundane tasks like the dishes or driving or painting the house. I've been working on this last task for the past couple of weekends and I've had as my companion the PBR (Professional Bull Riding) 'Verse (J2) by [livejournal.com profile] drvsilla , read by [livejournal.com profile] chemm80 . The verse is long and meaty - 12+ hours! - and such a delight to listen to! I have a THING for cowboys (even got my first kiss from one) and this really delivers when it comes to atmosphere, mindset, aw-shucks-ma'am blushes, and of course sexy times. [livejournal.com profile] chemm80  did a lovely job on the read - it's well-paced, with great inflection and she does an excellent job with the accents.

Podfic rec

I think I might be a little in love with [personal profile] scaramouche. I just recc'd another of her stories the other day. This one is a close second. It's a Dean/Castiel AU that is unique and affecting, clever and hot. [livejournal.com profile] exmanhater has a sweet voice and perfect tempo in this flawless read. Give it a shot! I'm listening to it for the 2nd time in a row and I NEVER do that. Holding Hands with a God, by [personal profile] scaramouche, read by [livejournal.com profile] exmanhater

Podfic rec

It's Always the End of the World Somewhere, written by scaramouche and read by [livejournal.com profile] painted_pain  is a completely enjoyable podfic. It's read with a sort of unhurried quietness that's simply brilliant. The story itself is just as brilliant - a high school AU, Dean/Castiel, that is written so well that it transfixed me into actually looking for things to clean around the house so that I could listen to more, something that is QUITE unlike me normally. Read or listen - you won't be disappointed!

Podfic Community Rec

[personal profile] general_jinjur, who runs the awesome Audiofic Archive for fandom is working on a challenge, to become a yearly event, to increase the fannish diversity of podfic along with [personal profile] anatsuno and [personal profile] raz0rgirl.

To this end, they've established a comm here on LJ, the [community profile] amplificathon.

One of the comm's goals is to get more people involved in podficcing as readers, and another is to get more fandoms, including 6-degrees fandoms, RPF/RPS, and more gen and diverse pairings represented in the Archive.

This year's challenge will run April 7th through June 2nd. Check out the comm for details.
