I'm in love!!

So, a little more than a week ago, justy213 and I went to the South LA Animal Shelter, where she adopted a beautiful little kitty. While we were there, "Bernard" caught my eye. He jumped up and started meowing as soon as we came into the room where he was kept. I went home but couldn't get the little guy out of my mind. Dave said we could get him and still I waffled back and forth.  I mean, holy hell!  I have twenty some birds, 2 cats, 2 dogs, a turtle and a goldfish.  But, of course, in the end I relented.  Here's my little guy:





He's so sweet and affectionate.  He's about 6 months and just 6 lbs.  The vet said he has a little belly already and to watch that I don't feed him too much.  Yeah, we'll see how I do with that.  :-)  Anyhow, his previous owner named him Bernard and I'm going to keep that name. Even though it sounds sort of ridiculous for such a little guy.  LOL

Aw, he is precious! There's a tiny, tiny stray that hangs around my dad's business; it's incredibly friendly and I was going to bring it home until I found out someone else had already laid claim to it. Sadness.

absolute YAY for new kibbens. I was also relieved to see that I'm not the only one in my flist to have a "zoo" :)! I can't walk into the pound, I'd bring all the kitties home.

That is a really cute cat. It sounds like you have a lot of animals, good luck with one more, but for those that tug at your heartstrings like that, it's probably a good thing you didn't leave him this way you'll have a new adventure, and hopefully no regrets.

awww he's beautiful. I love his name, because if you listen to a female in heat, it seems like she's saying "BERNAAAAAR BERNAAAAAAAAAR" lol so they are going to call for him by name.

I never go to shelters with friends because I know that I'm going to come out with one. I already have 3 cats, so... lol
