Freakish happenings

Okay, there are TWO freakish happenings I am reporting with this post.

  1. I am MAKING a post that isn't a rec or a story.  I know, I know.  I nearly hyperventilated in horror when I realized what I was about to do.
  2. I have actually wrenched myself away from Supernatural watching, Supernatural fanfic reading, Supernatural fanfic writing, and Supernatural fanfic recording long enough to watch another show - The Sarah Connor Chronicles.  Okay, I mainly did this because [personal profile] dysonrules and I are planning on writing some more spec tv scripts and this is a candidate.  But anyhow.  It's a pretty good show.  Not good enough to earn my everlasting devotion like Supernatural, but good enough to DVR and watch when I can zoom through the commercials ... Anyone else into this show?

I've been watching, but am a few weeks behind (languishing on my DVR).

Mostly, I've been waiting for the SPN crossovers - you could make a case for them being in the same universe, and I think Sarah being part of the hunter community and knowing Bobby would make a lot of sense. Plus, the time lines work out pretty well. Early teen-aged Sam/John Connor, being all pouty and avoiding weapons traing? Something about thinking Sarah was strange, since she's all obsessed with killer future robots, when there are things like werewolves to worry about right here and now.

Or, I could just be drowning in the crack :D

Hey ... a crossover! Hmmmm - sounds intriguing! Sam and John being all pouty ... I wonder who would out-pout the other? They both have rather interesting hair as well. I mainly want John to WASH his hair, and lay off the gel. Last night's ep was pretty good - although John was wearing this shirt covered with white spots that looked like he'd been painting the garage or possibly that he'd run afoul of a flock of seagulls. You've got me thinking crackalicious thoughts now ... LOL!

You have so NOT wrenched yourself away, you SN-obsessed thing, you. You are merely allowing another show to occupy one measly hour of your life once per week, after which you will guiltily watch three hours of SN on DVD.

LOL! I will start watching this, though. I will. As long as it's not on at the same time as Project Runway. HAR!

You know me too well! I like your idea of what my penance should be for spending one hour on another show ... LOL!

*giggle* I knew you'd like that one.

You know, I thought about watching that show for about a nanosecond because it was right after Prison Break but then I said, nah. What's it about?

Ooh - I was hooked on Prison Break for the first 2 seasons, but when they got stuck in that Panamanian prison even the gorgeousness of the leads couldn't overcome the silliness of it for me. Sigh.

Have you seen the Terminator movies? It basically takes place after T2, I think. The young kid, John, is destined to be the leader of mankind after robots cause the apocalypse 20 years in the future. Sarah is trying to keep the apocalypse from happening while at the same time kicking ass and taking names.

I haven't seen the movies. Well I saw bits and pieces. There's two women right? The younger one and the older one. Which one is Sarah?

[identity profile] twasadark.livejournal.com 2008-02-20 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I *love* the first movie, although it's rather dated now, especially since Arnie is a governor these days, lol!

Yeah, the older woman is Sarah. She's John's mom. The younger one is Cameron, who is actually a cyborg. I actually like Cameron the best - I think I read that she's the same girl who played River on Firefly.

You can watch the show without having watched the movies, but it's the kind of show that you need to keep on top of because otherwise it would probably be hard to catch up on all the plot threads, although they seem to show everything that ever happened in the opening clips for each show ... in any case, if you're interested, I can send you a link where you can watch the old eps.
