What a great read.

Honestly the show needs to do one of these hypothermia stories.

For now though this story painted some lovely images of the boys doing what they do best, killing the monster and surviving the fall out.

Loved Sam being all knowledgeable about how dangerous hypothermia is - also loved your description of how it was affecting Dean. The stumbling and confusion, the insistence on being fine just left alone. All rang very true and yep, sharing body heat is the only way to go. *G* Damn, Kripke really should do one of these, Vancouver's cold enough isn't it?

Best of all I thought was the mini breakdown when Dean was so vulnerable and not really in as much control as he usually is, triggered by Sam's smell, which so many memories are, reminding him of his lost dad was so very visceral and sad.

Finally the lost wolf analogy was a stroke of genius, Sam was able to reassure Dean of his place in Sam's heart without actually having to tell him outright. What a perfect Winchester thing to do!

Thanks so much for sharing.
